If you are upgrading your hardware or troubleshooting software performance, follow these steps for a complete uninstallation and a successful reinstall of the emWave Pro software.
Phase 1: Uninstall the Current Software
- Close emWave Pro: Ensure the application and any associated hardware (USB sensor) are disconnected.
- Open Settings: Click the Start menu and select the Settings (gear icon).
- Locate the App: Navigate to Apps > Installed Apps (on Windows 11) or Apps & Features (on Windows 10).
- Remove emWave: Scroll through the list to find emWave. Click the three dots (or the app name) and select Uninstall. Follow the Windows prompts to complete the process.
Phase 2: Perform a “Clean” Uninstall (Optional but Recommended)
To ensure no corrupted files remain, perform these extra steps:
- Open File Explorer and go to
C:\Program Files (x86). - If you see a folder named HeartMath, right-click and Delete it.
- Important: Your personal session data is stored in
Documents/emWave. This folder is generally not deleted during uninstallation, keeping your history safe.
Phase 3: Download and Reinstall
- Download the Latest Version: Navigate to the official HeartMath Downloads Page.
- Select Your Product: Choose the installer for emWave Pro / Plus for Windows.
- Run the Installer: Once the download is complete, double-click the file to begin the installation.
- Enter Registration: If prompted, enter your Registration Number (found on your original Quick Start Guide or within your purchase email).
Troubleshooting Tips
- Restart Your PC: It is highly recommended to restart your computer after uninstalling and before reinstalling to flush temporary memory.
- Check for Updates: Once reinstalled, go to Help > Check for Updates within the software to ensure you have the absolute latest patches.
