How to Uninstall and Reinstall emWave Pro on Windows

If you are upgrading your hardware or troubleshooting software performance, follow these steps for a complete uninstallation and a successful reinstall of the emWave Pro software.

Phase 1: Uninstall the Current Software

  1. Close emWave Pro: Ensure the application and any associated hardware (USB sensor) are disconnected.
  2. Open Settings: Click the Start menu and select the Settings (gear icon).
  3. Locate the App: Navigate to Apps > Installed Apps (on Windows 11) or Apps & Features (on Windows 10).
  4. Remove emWave: Scroll through the list to find emWave. Click the three dots (or the app name) and select Uninstall. Follow the Windows prompts to complete the process.

Phase 2: Perform a “Clean” Uninstall (Optional but Recommended)

To ensure no corrupted files remain, perform these extra steps:

  • Open File Explorer and go to C:\Program Files (x86).
  • If you see a folder named HeartMath, right-click and Delete it.
  • Important: Your personal session data is stored in Documents/emWave. This folder is generally not deleted during uninstallation, keeping your history safe.

Phase 3: Download and Reinstall

  1. Download the Latest Version: Navigate to the official HeartMath Downloads Page.
  2. Select Your Product: Choose the installer for emWave Pro / Plus for Windows.
  3. Run the Installer: Once the download is complete, double-click the file to begin the installation.
  4. Enter Registration: If prompted, enter your Registration Number (found on your original Quick Start Guide or within your purchase email).

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Restart Your PC: It is highly recommended to restart your computer after uninstalling and before reinstalling to flush temporary memory.
  • Check for Updates: Once reinstalled, go to Help > Check for Updates within the software to ensure you have the absolute latest patches.
