Overview
Database errors like “Fetch Row” or “Disk I/O” occur when the software can no longer communicate with your user history file. This is often caused by a sudden system shutdown, file permission issues, or underlying database corruption.
Step 1: Resetting the Database File
By renaming the database file, you force the software to create a fresh, uncorrupted database.
- Close the emWave software completely.
- Open your File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac).
- Navigate to your Documents folder and locate the emWave folder.
- Inside the emWave folder, find the file named
emwave.emdb. - Right-click the file and rename it to
original.emdb. - Relaunch the software. It will automatically generate a new, empty database.
Step 2: Reinstalling the Software (If Needed)
If the error persists after resetting the database, the software files themselves may be compromised.
- Uninstall: Go to your system’s Control Panel or Applications folder and uninstall the emWave software.
- Reinstall: Download the latest version of emWave Pro from the official HeartMath website.
- Follow the on-screen installation prompts to complete the setup.
