Customizing Your emWave PRO Experience with Personal Soundtracks

The emWave PRO software includes default audio tracks (like the “7 Minute Song”), but many users find that personal music choices can more effectively trigger the positive emotional states needed for high coherence. You can easily swap the default background audio for any compatible music file on your computer.

Step-by-Step Instructions

For Windows (PC):

  1. Open emWave PRO.
  2. Click the Edit tab in the top menu and select Preferences.
  3. Navigate to the Sound tab.
  4. In the Soundtrack section, click the Song button.
  5. The “Select Background Sound File” window will open. Use the file explorer to navigate to your Music folder.
  6. Select your desired track and click Open.

For macOS:

  1. Open emWave PRO.
  2. Click the emWavePRO menu in the top-left (next to the Apple icon) and select Preferences.
  3. Click the Sound tab.
  4. Click the Song button in the Soundtrack section.
  5. Use the navigation bar on the left to select Music, then navigate through your iTunes/Music Media folders to find the specific Artist and Album.
  6. Select the song and click Open.

Important Technical Requirements

  • Supported Formats: The software currently only supports .MP3, .WAV, and .WMA files.
  • iTunes Compatibility: The default iTunes format (.m4a or .mp4a) is not supported. If you wish to use a song from your iTunes library, you must first convert it to MP3 format within the iTunes/Music app before selecting it in emWave.
  • The “Restart” Rule: To ensure the new audio file is properly indexed, the emWave program will automatically close after you select a new soundtrack. Simply relaunch the application to start your session.

Verification

To confirm your new music is loaded:

  • Reopen the program and go back to Preferences > Sound.
  • The file name of your chosen song should now be displayed on the Song button.
