Overview
Proper attachment and connection of your Inner Balance™ Coherence Plus sensor are essential for the HeartMath app to calibrate and begin a session. If the ear sensor is not securely clipped or if there is a Bluetooth conflict, the app will be unable to process your heart rhythm data.
Troubleshooting Steps
Use the following steps to ensure a stable connection and successful calibration:
- Confirm the sensor is neither charging nor connected to any power source.
- Power off the sensor and power it back on to refresh all active connections.
- Verify that the sensor’s indicator light is blinking, indicating it is ready to connect.
- Navigate to your phone’s Bluetooth settings and ensure you have not manually paired the sensor there.
- If the sensor appears as “Connected” in your phone’s system settings, turn the sensor off and back on to unpair it. The app must handle the connection directly.
- Securely clip the sensor to the center of your earlobe.
- In the HeartMath app, tap the Heart Icon at the bottom right of the screen.
- Select Start Session.
- When the app scans and displays your sensor ID on the screen, tap Connect.
- Stay still during the calibration process. Once complete, the app will begin displaying your real-time coherence score.
Why Calibration is Necessary
Calibration allows the sensor to adjust to your specific pulse strength and skin tone. If the clip moves or is disconnected during this phase, the session will fail to start. Always ensure the clip is stable and the sensor pod is turned on before tapping the start button.
