Overview
During an active coherence session, the Inner Balance app requires a continuous stream of pulse data to calculate Heart Rate Variability (HRV) and coherence levels. If this stream is interrupted—either by the sensor being physically unplugged or by it losing contact with the skin—the app enters a “paused data” state.
App Behavior During Disconnection
When the signal is lost, you will notice the following changes in the interface:
-
Pulse Display: The heart rate or pulse wave will stop moving and appear “frozen.”
-
Coherence Over Time: The graph will show a flatline from the moment of disconnection onward. This remains visible so you can see where the interruption occurred.
-
Point Accumulation: Both Coherence Points and Achievement Points will immediately stop increasing, as there is no heart data to validate.
-
Session Timer: The total session clock continues to run. This allows you to re-attach the sensor and resume your session without starting a new recording.
What You Should Do
-
To Resume: Simply re-attach the sensor to your earlobe and wait a few seconds for the app to pick up your pulse signal again.
-
To End: If you do not wish to continue, tap the Stop button. The app will finalize the session and upload the data captured prior to the disconnection to your HeartCloud account.
Technical Note
These reactions are programmed into the software to ensure the integrity of your session data. If the app continued to award points without a valid heart signal, your long-term progress metrics would be inaccurate. This behavior is not a malfunction of the software or the hardware.
