Overview
The HeartMath Clinical Certification is a specialized program designed for healthcare professionals integrating heart rate variability (HRV) and resilience techniques into clinical practice. Below are the specific eligibility criteria and completion requirements.
1. Eligibility Criteria
To enroll in this course, you must meet one of the following professional standards:
- Licensed Professionals: You must be a state, provincial, or nationally licensed or certified health professional. Qualifying fields include counseling, therapy, psychology, nursing, medicine, occupational therapy, yoga therapy, and other recognized clinical or mental health modalities.
- Students: Health professional students are eligible for certification after completing their first year of study, provided they can submit a valid transcript.
Important Exclusion: Life coaches, personal coaches, business coaches, and corporate trainers are not eligible for the Clinical Certification. We encourage professionals in these fields to explore our other HeartMath certification programs better suited to those backgrounds.

2. Course Requirements
To successfully complete the certification, participants must:
- Complete Modules: Finish all online learning modules (typically six or seven one-hour sessions) and associated assignments.
- Study Time: Engage with the supplied materials, including live or on-demand instruction. The curriculum totals approximately 20 hours of combined video, reading, and practical exercises.
- Final Exam: Achieve a minimum score of 80% on the final exam. (Re-takes are allowed until a passing score is achieved).
- Documentation: Submit any required proof of licensure, certification, or student status to finalize your enrollment.
3. Certification & Listing
Upon successful completion of the coursework and exam, you will receive a certificate of completion. You may then apply to be listed as a HeartMath Certified Practitioner in our provider directory. Please note that directory listing is at the sole discretion of HeartMath.
