Using HSA/FSA Funds for HeartMath Purchases

Overview

HeartMath has partnered with TrueMed to make it easier for you to use your HSA/FSA funds for our products. Because HeartMath tools are often used to manage stress-related health conditions, they frequently qualify as medical expenses under IRS guidelines.

Step-by-Step Reimbursement Process

1. Verify Eligibility: Check with your employer or plan administrator to ensure your specific FSA or HSA account allows for the reimbursement of biofeedback and wellness technology.
2. Complete Your Purchase: Purchase your HeartMath equipment (such as the Inner Balance or emWave) using your regular personal credit or debit card.
3. Obtain a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN): * Immediately after your purchase, look for a prompt on the Order Confirmation page to access the HSA/FSA evaluation form.
   • Complete the brief health evaluation.
   • If approved, TrueMed will email you your Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) within 24–48 hours, including detailed instructions on your next steps.
4. Submit Your Claim: Log in to your FSA/HSA administrator’s portal. Submit your HeartMath receipt along with the LMN provided by TrueMed. Once approved by your administrator, you will receive a refund directly to your bank account.
