The emWave Pro software now supports a wireless connection with the Inner Balance Coherence Plus sensor. This allows you to run your sessions without being tethered to your computer by a USB cable.
Before You Begin
- Update Your Software: Ensure you are running emWave Pro version 3.7 or newer.
- Enable Bluetooth: Make sure Bluetooth is turned on in your computer’s system settings (Windows or Mac).
- Check Other Apps: Ensure the sensor is not currently connected to the Inner Balance app on your phone or tablet, as it can only connect to one device at a time.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Power on your Sensor Press the power button on your Coherence Plus sensor once. You should see a blinking blue light, indicating it is in pairing mode and ready to connect.
2. Open emWave Pro Launch the emWave Pro application on your computer.
3. Set the Sensor Preference You need to tell the software to look for a Bluetooth device instead of a USB hardware key.
- On Windows: Go to Edit > Preferences.
- On Mac: Go to emWave Pro (in the top menu bar) > Preferences.
- In the Preferences window, locate the Sensor tab and select Bluetooth / Coherence Plus from the dropdown menu. Click OK.
4. Start a Session Click the Start (play) button in the main emWave Pro window. A “Bluetooth Device Discovery” window will pop up and begin searching for your sensor.
5. Pair the Device Select your Coherence Plus sensor from the list when it appears and click Connect.
- Note: You do not need to pair the sensor through your computer’s Bluetooth settings menu; the software handles the connection directly.
6. Start Breathing Once connected, the light on your sensor will change to a solid blue or green (depending on your settings), and you will see your pulse wave appear on the screen. Clip the sensor to your earlobe and begin your session.
Quick Troubleshooting Tips
- Not appearing in the list? Ensure the sensor is close to your computer and hasn’t timed out (the light should still be blinking before you hit Start).
- Battery Life: If the connection drops, check that your sensor is fully charged.
- Range: For the best performance, stay within 10–15 feet of your computer during your session.
