For typical, portable use, the emWave2 is not compatible with an external Finger Sensor.
Technical Reasons
-
Built-in Hardware: The emWave2 is specifically designed with an integrated thumb sensor on the face of the device, making an external finger sensor unnecessary for handheld sessions.
-
Power Requirements: Although the Finger Sensor uses the same connector as the standard Ear Sensor, it requires significantly more power to function. The battery and internal circuitry of the emWave2 are not designed to supply this level of power during standalone use.
Usage When Connected to a Computer
If you prefer using a finger sensor over the thumb sensor or ear sensor, you may do so only when the device is tethered to a computer:
-
Connect your emWave2 to your computer using the USB cable.
-
Launch the emWave PRO or emWave2 software.
-
Plug the finger sensor into the sensor jack on the emWave2.
-
In this configuration, the computer provides the necessary power via the USB port, allowing the finger sensor to function correctly as an interface device.
Note: For the best portable experience, we recommend using the built-in thumb sensor or the included ear sensor.
